Heatsink from Compulab

Does anybody tried heat sink Compulab advertised here http://www.fit-pc.com/web/fit-pc2/accessories/?

It states it fits to fit-pc2i, probably it should fit to regular fit-pc also?
What is temperature before installing heat sink and after?

We did test it
Touch temperature is down 5-7C in normal conditions. It greatly depends on natural airflow.
CPU temperature is down 3-4C.

The heat sink is not needed for normal operation. It is useful in extreme conditions like mounting outdoors or in electrical cabinets.

Any idea when the heat sink will be available in the U.S.? The two U.S. suppliers don't seem to have a page for it yet.

Looking at the measurements of this cooling device it will fit on both fit-PC2 and fit-PC2i which bth use the same case as far as I can see. But why is the temperature reduced by only 5-7 degrees? I mean temperature is about 50-55 degrees in normal usage state as I read in a French web forum, so 5-7 degrees less is not much. For such a big cooler in comparison to the computer case size I think this is quite few related to its price. Maybe the heatsink should be even bigger to enclose the fit-PC2.

I have a piece of aluminium just slightly bigger than the fit-PC2 and about 1cm thick I found in my tool cabinet just lying on top of the computer and it reduces the temperature by about 10 degrees.

Can you place a picture of this alumimium bar? Is it from a CPU cooler or not related to computing?

It is just a block of aluminium I found on my boat. It is not even totally flat, i.e. it is not touching the computer with a perfect surface and I don't have any heat goo between.

Just ran a test now.

With a load (playing a Video using Windows Media Player) and the CPU running at 35-45%.

Without heatsink - 49 to 50 degrees celcius
With heatsink - 40 to 41 degrees celcius

Pretty good I think.

Maybe I should place the fit-PC between the cooling fins of my heating. As the heating never runs, there is plenty of space and cold metal to transport high temperature.

When not use a CPU Cooler w/ a Fan or "Laptop" cooler to cool the fit-pc2 ..

Your other PC will be jealous.
