Custom fit-pci2 / changing hard-disks.

Post by natti »

Hi,

My "optimal" solution would be the fit-pc2i machine with 2ghz cpu and 2gb ram with a larger than 8GB SSD disk.
However the only SSD option available from you has an 8GB disk.

So my question is:
If I would buy the fit-pci2 2gb/2ghz diskless (fit-PC2i-D2G-C2000-W) could I install my own 120GB 2.5” SSD disk?

Can someone elaborate on this?
I'm looking for a small pc (the reason why I'm looking at the fit) with two ethernet ports and a 60-120GB SSD disk.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

You can install a 2.5" SATA SSD in fit-PC2i 2GB/2GHz.
Most SSDs will just work. In http://fit-pc2.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=27 you can find reports about specific SSD models that are not recognized by fit-PC2i.

Thanks for the answer.

so the diskless machine comes with an ide/sata interface that I can connect a disk to?

One additional question; will this (installing a custom disk) in any way void the warranty of the machine?

The fit-PC2i diskless has a bay for standard SATA 2.5".
Replacing the HDD does not void the warranty on the computer (of course we do not warrant the 3rd party HDD/SSD itself).
