well the easiest way to me would be to set up a FTP server and if your mobile phone is a smartphone that you can download a ftp client from (e.g iphone) then you could this.

Sorry i am new to this topic.
kindly regret for my silly questions.

For the FTP concept, whether the net connection is needed ?
Or Shall i go with WIFI concept ?
Since many mobile has got wifi inbuilt, so that if i connect the wifi device to FIT PC2, i can transfer audio and video from extra range compared to FTP concept?
Am i right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>i need to transfer Audio and video via FIT PC2 , from mobile phone,

What make and model mobile phone?

What operating system on the fit-PC?

If it's an iPhone and the fit-PC is running Windows then presumably you can run iTunes on the PC and connect the iPhone via USB.

Since you mention "range" maybe USB cable isn't what you wanted. What range do you require?

You can't say that WiFi gives better range than FTP because FTP is an application protocol that runs on top of TCP/IP that could be across the room or across the planet. FTP can't be directly compared with WiFi. They operate at different levels.

Hi,
I am completely impressed with ur reply.
I am using UBUNTU 10.04 in FIT pc2.
Based on the protocol, i am intended to get Mobile phone.

U just recommend me a protocol (WIFI or FTP or even higher), which suits with FIT pC2 and mobile phones, i will proceed to it.

Do you need single frames from the camera or video? Either way though I wouldn't be able to recommend some software.

Ya fine,
With FITPC2 i got a robot.
In that a camera has been attached.
Now the camera is connected to fit pc2.
the outlet video of camera has to be seen in remote place in phone?
Fot this application, i need a protocol for audi and video files transfer .

Whether FTP or wifi would suit for this kind of application ?
which has better advantage ?

As I wrote before, FTP can't be directly compared with WiFi. They operate at different levels.

In the location where the fit-PC and the robot and the camera are, is there any network? If so, please describe the network that is available there. For example, does that location have an internet connection?

What is the typical / minimum / maximum distance between the location where the fit-PC is and the location where the mobile phone is?

PS If you want to monitor a real-time video stream, FTP would not be the ideal choice for application protocol.
