how does it compare to my old computer?

Post by clearblue »

I would like to know regarding the fit PC2/ 2GB/ 2GHZ:

1) Is it faster or slower than my previous computer which had a Athlon 64 3200 + 2.4 GHZ Processor? (HP Pavillion)

2) Can someone comfortably build a web-site using your fit PC2 model above?

Thank you.

The FitPC2 2GHz is based on an energy efficient Intel Atom Z550 32 bit processor, so if you compare the technical data, Z550 has lower core speed, and 64bit processors have some advantage on their 32bit competitors (with appropriate software support). But if you want to compare overall performance of the two systems, you should run some benchmark software on the both PCs (because there is a lot of other parameters that affect the system performance such as system board, os and etc...) and to check which PC is better for your needs. If you want I can post results of the benchmark here for your reference.

It is highly depends on the software you are using for that needs, and the web-site you are developing (I mean DB size and type, local web server type and etc.).
