Hello guys,
I have FitPC2i running Ubuntu 11.04 and 2 days ago I typed "sudo halt".
The command powered down the machine successfully. Then I press the power button and it did not even reach the stage to boot the OS. The LED which indicated HDD activity just blink twice and that was it. The external monitor did not get any signal (it stays off like the video cable was connected to a switched off monitor).
I tried unplugging and plugging to the power adapter and I took the HDD out, but eventually the monitor does not got give any information at all. I have disconnect the external HDD and I did not connect any keyboard or a mouse during the experiments.
Do you have an idea what might be the problem and how to diagnose it?
PS: I have lost my Serial Cable
my FitPC2i died :(
Re: my FitPC2i died :(
OK
Lets the try following steps to see if your FitPC2 passed away, or that is just a temporary problem.
1. Disconnected all devices from the FitPC2i
2. Test your keyboard and mice if they are operational on other PC
3. Check the monitor and monitor cable if they are ok (again, the best way os to plug to other working PC)
4. Plug in FitPC2i keyboard, mice and monitor to the FitPC2i
5. Attach power cord to the FitPC2i and press rapidly on F2 key.
6. Keep rapidly pressing on F2 key until you'll get a BIOS screen
Please post me here for the results

Re: my FitPC2i died :(
Thanks for the fast reply. Eventually, the fit-pc is working fine. The problem was that it gets stalled during the loading of the grub.
Initially I have connected the fit-pc to a monitor through a VGA port using this:
http://www.dealextreme.com/p/dvi-to-vga ... -to-f-8312
but it seems that it did not work correctly.
Then I have tried it on another monitor that has DVI and then I understand that the problem was in Grub. I fixed it and now everything works fine.
Thanks once again
