fitPC vs. netbook

I was discussing with my pal possibility of getting fitPC for handling background tasks - file server, Asterisk, SqueezeCenter, etc - until he asked me why wouldn't I get a netbook instead, and set it run with closed lid - which after all seems to be more versatile option indeed.

What are advantages of fit-pc2 vs. netbook?
