Ubuntu vs. XP: performance
Ubuntu vs. XP: performance
I remember a thread on fit-pc.com forum where someone confirmed that XP on fit-pc works much faster then Ubuntu. Is it still the case for fir-PC2? If so, what's the reason for that? Is it only right for GUI, or it's about overall performance?
Re: Ubuntu vs. XP: performance
XP is still more responsive than Ubuntu. There is a very significant improvement in both compared to fit-PC 1.x
Re: Ubuntu vs. XP: performance
Is it GUI-related phenomenon, or any "server" app will be slower on Ubuntu?
Re: Ubuntu vs. XP: performance
It has to do with Gnome being heavy. Probably XFCE would be more responsive.
Server applications should work very well.
