Units are over heating and freezing

Post by Stormgiblin »

We are running 3 Fitpc2 units in Turnstiles to control them. They have been running for a few years. The systems are running Windows XP. The normally have very little hard-drive time and run about 15% cpu

Two weeks ago all three started to freeze and would need to be rebooted within six hours of operation. The systems also where getting very hot.

Could this be a thermal issue with the sinks or could it be the power supplies?

Thanks

As you're saying the computers operating for several years already, so it could be anything.
Possible failures:
1. Power supplies - maybe one of them is damaged. Please try to cross.
2. HDD - the storage may have to end of life. Install other storage and see.
3. RAM - pleas run memtest.

If 1, you may purchase a power supply.
If 2, replace the storage device.
If 3, you may consider RMA, when of course it will be checked whether the computers under warranty or not.
