mini pci-express

Post by marcel »

Is it be possible to use the on board mini-pci for a 3g modem.

I know that there is no Sim card on the board, but there are embedded modem modules that have a sim card connector on the module like:

fit-PC2 is not intended for such customization.
Check SBC-FITPC2 at www.compulab.co.il

The explanation is that you either purchase the end-user computer (Fit-PC2) for cheap price but are not allowed to mess with it (i.e. install your own mini-PCI-express card), or you order a more expensive board which entitles you customer support and also allows you to modify the board yourself, i.e. install the GSM card.

To put it more simply: if you install the board to Fit-PC2 yourself, you lose warranty. Also, you should first check if the models without wireless adapter have mini-PCIe port at all (they may not have it to reduce costs).
