USB dropping connection to RS485 adaptor

Post by BrisbaneR33 »

I am using the fit-pc2 for monitoring my solar system. I have an RS485 to USB adaptor (Prolific) connected to a rear port on the fit-pc2. After a period of time (somewhere around the hour mark) the PC drops connection with the USB device. The only way to fix it is unplug and reconnect to a different USB port or reboot the PC. On some occasions this has also caused the USB keyboard and mouse to lock up.

PC is running Windows 7 Pro. I have been using the adaptor on a full size desktop PC with no issues.

Any ideas?

I no longer have a keyboard and mouse plugged in as I have vnc running on it. I continue to experience issues with the rs485 adapter which works fine on another PC.
