avi playback

Post by pzh20 »

I'm getting a problem witht the audio tracks for what I thought were just avi's, but seems all audio. I get a machine gun like repeat (or a trill type sound) with a small delay every now and again.

I have removed and reinstalled the audio drivers, and I have also used the recommended codec on the fit pc site.

Any ideas?

Regards
Pete

This is an audio codec buffer underrun resulting from CPU entering lower C-State despite playback. This is tuned in the fit-PC2 XP HD but may be a little tricky on custom XP installation.

You need the latest Realtek drivers AND latest Microsoft UAA driver (see Realtek driver readme for link).

Another thing you can try is changing in BIOS/Intel/CPU Control/Processor Full Speed to "GV3 Only" (to disable CPU C-States)

I had downloaded all the drivers from your link! Anyway downloaded the Realtek drivers (again) and it seems to have done the job.

Many thanks
