I tried it from a USB CD drive and it looked pretty good at a quick glance. I'll be testing it out a little more this weekend. It would not detect the wireless though.

How fast did the graphics appear?
There is quite a difference between the HW-accellerated drivers (for U9.04/8.10) and the Vesa driver

I installed Ubuntu 9.10 from USB stick and it runs. The graphics however are extremely slow! For 2 days I have been trying to install a 'patched' Poulsbo (Intel GMA 500) driver, but none worked. I ended up installing 9.04 using the HOWTO from the Fit-PC Wiki but this seems to have problems either.

After 4 days & 3 Ubuntus (9.10, 8.04 & 9.04) later I end up with 9.04 without any accelerated video! With pain in my heart I'm seriously considering using Windows XP...

Does anyone tried IEGD driver? I do not have luck to bring IEGD driver under ubuntu. According Intel, IEGD supports hardware graphic accelerator.

This should be working in 9.10 with the instructions found here...

If it is solved, shouldn't we mark this thread as solved?

Hi,
I'm having same problems as Bux has. In fact, I'm in the pretty same lame case!

Why aren't you all CompuLab Fit-PCx team building a custom install CD image or a "base disk capture you can easily start with"??

Just wonderin'... I'd solve all ( my | our ) issues on a snap!

EDIT : a renewal of the Jaunty DIY has come : http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php?t ... buntu_9.10

It definetly works, after all. Sorry 8)

I like the approach of not having a special cd. That makes it so they with one set of instructions they fix, ubuntu, kubuntu, xubuntu, mythbuntu and just about all the other buntus andother ubuntu based distros. It's the best way to do it in my opinion. But I digress from the topic of this form.
