CP210x support not included in Fit-PC2 kernel (Ubuntu 9.10)

Post by jrmole »

Hi,

I am trying to use my Fit-PC2 as a data logger for my weather station (as well as solar panels). The weather station uses a CP210x USB->serial adapter. It runs with the generic Ubuntu 9.10 install, but once I use the Fit-PC2 update it looses the ability to talk to the weather station. I don't want to just run the generic kernel as it doesn't include wireless support.

Looking into this, I can see that the "CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_CP210X" line was commented out in the /boot/config* file. Changing it to "CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_CP210X=m" was not sufficient to fix my issue.

Any suggestions? Is there a list of other changes to the config* file? Running a difference between the generic and Fit-PC2 files yields ~250 changes.

Thanks in advance.
