moving logon screen (looping) after install command

Post by KonataFB »

i'm only a novice at linux so forgive my noobyness :D. (useing xubuntu)

i did the command,
sudo apt-get install linux-image-2.6.31-34-fitpc2 linux-headers-2.6.31-34-fitpc2 xserver-xorg-video-poulsbo mplayer-vaapi mplayer-skins

and now when i try to log in i get a really small pictures moveing fast across my screen in a loop.
(leaves left comes back on right) its definitely my logon screen just really small and moving lol.

EDIT:
I've confirmed the linux display divers for fitpc must hate my tv, works perfectly in my pc monitors HDMI port.

Your TV seems not to correctly recognize the video mode it gets from the PC. Perhaps its just a refresh rate issue.

Try to change refresh rate with your favourite tool (for example xrandr). Less should be better.
