Video - green line

Post by gmv100 »

Hi,

I've just installed Ubuntu 9.10 following the guide posted on this board. All is fine expect for video playback which suffers from two problems. First, there is a bold green line at the bottom of the picture. Second, probably related, the picture does not fill the screen; there are black bars above and below the picture, even though the video file playing is the same aspect ratio as the screen.
I'm using Mythtv 0.22 with the playback renderer set to xv-blit. No other renderer options work in realtime.
I've seen some posts from others mentioning a green line - has anyone else found a solution to this yet? Does anyone know whether the same problem exists for Ubuntu 9.04?

Thanks, Gareth.

I have a green line with some videos, too (720p). Worst of it all, it crashes all the time.

Apart from that you may try to mangle with aspect ratio on the software side. mplayer at least has monitoraspect setting. Don't know if it makes it through va-api patches though.
