WLAN Driver Problems in XP

Post by tommyk »

Hi,

I'm having Problems with my WLAN on Fit-PC2 C1600-W-ACN under Windows XP SP3 (apart from Intels novercal gma500 Support).

After startup i can't reach the Menue Point Start->Connet with for some Minutes.
WLAN with WPA2 and hidden SSID does work only once: after Driver Reinstall.
If i use Microsofts Zero Configuration, I cant put in a WPA2-PSK key there. Got to use WPA-PSK and switch to WPA2-PSK after that.
If I want it to work after Reboot or Standby I'm stuck to the Ralink
Software, which needs at least 3 Minutes to connect. On my Laptop that only takes 3 Seconds.

I tried the Driver from you Driver Package
http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/xp-driv ... e%20newest
Version from Ralink Homepage
http://www.ralinktech.com.tw/data/drive ... 0_Free.exe
I also followed your Recommendations, which fixed the Transferspeed

I would appreciate a driver-fix for the MS Zero Configuration Utility which hopefully brings a faster Wifi-Connect after startup.

I am also having wifi problems.

My wireless works fine and fast most of the time, but drops off the wifi every couple hours until I "repair" it. I also followed directions on optimizing the wifi, which seemed to help for a day or so, but I just had my wifi drop twice this morning.

Needless to say, having to manually intervene on a headless, always on PC is a bit of a pain in the neck.

Anyone seeing similar problems?

My WLan issue is that I can see my SSID and it has fully bars. When I click Connect it says connected, I get an IP and ipconfig looks good. But when I open a browser I can't get to any sites. Can't ping any outside addresses and cant nslookup.

My laptop sitting right next to it works fine with all the exact same settings.
