fit-pc2i Rev1.1 SD slot booting

Hi all,
I am planning to buy a second hand fit-pc2i Rev.1.1
According to http://www.fit-pc2.com/wiki/index.php/F ... _Revisions the Rev1.1. does not have a bootable miniSD slot. So, my question is: is it possible to make the slot bootable by flashing the BIOS or do some other smart trick?

And one Q more: What is the difference in the UART232 between Rev.1.1 and Rev.1.2
