Video performance in W7 on FitPC2i

Post by mrcoffee11 »

Hello

Last year I bought a FitPC2i. I ran linux with just a commandline on it. Now I want to use the pc as a media player. I'm experiencing problems playing video. The image is not sharp at all on my 46" Philips TV, same goes for the wallpaper or images. My laptop gives a perfect result when playing avi's via HDMI on this TV.

First I installed W7.

Then I installed the latest drivers I could find on the fit-pc.com website.

Also the one from this post:

I updated the BIOS to the latest version.

Also tried WXP Pro. Same result. The resolution looks fine on my 46" but the video is not sharp at all.

What is the problem here, am I forgetting something? Or is this Fit-PC2i not fit for playing video's on a TV? Is there an alternative to W7 or WXP on Fit-PC2i?

Hope someone can help me out here cause I've been spending way to much time trying to solve this question.

Cheers
Roderick

Tested again without a good result on Windows 7.

* Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 Driver Release
* Microsoft Windows* 7
* Driver Revision: 5.0.0.2030
* Sep 21, 2010
*
* NOTE: This document refers to systems containing the
* following Intel chipsets:
*
* Intel(R) SCH US15W Chipset
* Intel(R) SCH UL11L Chipset

Downloaded from Intel website. The drivers result was a sluggish video performance but the quality picture was better.

* Intel® Embedded Media and Graphics Driver Release
*
* Microsoft Windows* 7
* Driver Revision: 8.14.1100.2208
* Nov 15, 2011
* NOTE: This document refers to systems containing the
* following Intel chipsets:
* Intel(R) SCH US15W Chipset
* Intel(R) Atom™ E6xx Chipset

This is the so called IEMGD driver. Speed was better but the quality was bad.

Eager for some of your advice here. Cheers, Roderick

Does the poor video performance occur only with the described above monitor?
