Configure VGA output for modern monitor

Post by l0b0 »

Whenever I boot, about 10 seconds after the GRUB menu selection the Dell U2412M reports
The current input timing is not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 1920x1200 @60Hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications
I've tried setting LCD device mode to 640x480, 800x600, and 1600x1200 (all of which are supported by the monitor, and always using LCD refresh rate 60 Hz), changing the LCD data width, upping the Geode LX graphics to 32 MB, and resetting the bios to the factory settings, but it always reports the same issue.

Is there anything else I can try? To be clear, I can see the startup messages just fine, and as far as I know there is no X server installed (Ctrl-Alt-F1 does nothing).

If this is an X server issue, please try to use "vga=0x315" boot option. It should set the graphics to very basic mode
