Sensors ubuntu 10.10

Post by benoit »

Hi,

I followed the differents way to get Temp of my hardrive and CPU and I got result with sensors/hddtemp and the script Denis gave but I am suprised about the value.
My disk always reports 42° and just 43° when I use a lot
My CPU reports 35° and 40° with full load (using stress)

When I made the same test in windows I get value like 70° for CPU and 54° for Harddrive.

When I touch the unit it is definitely more than 35/30°

Anyone has an idea to get numbers more reliable on ubuntu?

Many thanks,

Sounds like Windows is reporting in Fahrenheit and Linux is reporting in Celsius. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celsius

Thanks for the reply, but I double checked and in Windows it was in Celsus and when I put my hand on it it is more than 40° for sure...

Somebody has an idea on this?
I also tested to use a lot the CPU or hard drive and I notice only 1 / 2 degres of variation , one more reason that I am not confident about the numbers I get from the sensors (hddtemp and lm-sensors)..

Many thanks,

To be accurate :

I tested with an external sensor, it reported 75-80 Celsus °.
I confirm that the internal sensors are not accurate or the hdtemp or sensors-lm not providing the right information...

Is the support aware about this?
