Display artifacts in mint (solved)

Hi again,

After the updates are installed from FitPC sources, the display started to act funky. Especially when a window is maximized all of the screen get scrambled, sometimes it recovers from the situation when you minimize that window, sometimes not. In some cases a new window on the display is scrambled but the rest of the page looks OK.

I have also realized that the Wi-Fi is not detected.

Do you know what the problems may be?

First of all thanks to the guys at compulab for releasing an official supported lts version!

I can confirm this using a fitpc2 1.21 -- the unit works fine using lucid with the psb driver. I am very busy by now, however, I will eventually get to have a look at the problem this weekend.
I have also realized that the Wi-Fi is not detected.
The rt3090 should work fine, if not use the rt3090-dkms from lucid ppa. Which fitpc2 are you using?
Can I also use other versions of Linux Mint "Isadora" for the installation like Linux Mint 9 "Isadora" - Gnome DVD (32-bit) ?
Using other editions of mint9 32bit should work fine, the packages are the same. However, I haven't tried it..

Try to disable visual effects in Preferences-> Appearance->Visual Effects

It should work out of the box if you follow installation instructions.
Do you mean Wi-Fi card is not detected or you can`t see wireless networks around you?

Disabling effects fixed my screen issues, thanks. The rt3090 should work out-of-the-box, at least mine does. Xv is working and even suspend works fine. Looks like a good release so far, however, as I have an ubuntu lts set up and working, I won't make a switch until I have some more time playing around.
