Error message when trying to start OS

Hello,

Recently I tried to make a new installation of the Mint 9 OS on my fit-PC2i.
Then suddenly the following message appeared:

"error: too small lower memory (0x99100 > 0x90000)
Failed to boot both default and fallback entries"

Now nothing seems to work anymore - not even the (F) commands in the BIOS.

I wonder whether this could be an issue with the on-board 4GB flash disk - which is the only HD I'm usually using.

In case it needs to be sent to repair, do I have to send it to the reseller where I bought it, or to CompuLab in Israel?

Info would be appreciated very much!

Have you tried a memory scan?
I think its a memory problem.

Thanks Ev0lsan!

How could I do a memory scan?
When I start up the computer, this message shows up right away and all functions are blocked.
I can only get into the BIOS, but no commands are possible there either.

Are you able to navigate through the BIOS? Is the keyboard ok?

The keyboard works fine with another computer - which I'm using to write this post.
Thus, yes, I can navigate through the BIOS - there it's only the "F..." commands which don't work.

I just tried another keyboard. The "F..." commands in the BIOS are working with this one. I set the BIOS to the default configuration.
But still no difference with the OS - neither the one I had installed, nor the Live version I tried to access via a bootable USB pen drive.
Either way, only the mentioned message is showing up.

I already considered to RMA the product to the reseller.
Here is his reply:

"This has nothing to do with hardware. Just google on your mistake and you see messages like this: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s ... ion/135875
Your mint installation is causing problems….
Please also check support on Compulab site: http://www.fit-pc.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=13

Good luck!"

What is the S/N of your FitPC2? Is this a FitPC2 or FitPC2i?
