Linux Mint 13 MATE - S/PDIF

Hi,

I followed the installation instructions of http://www.fit-pc.com/wiki/index.php/Li ... on_fit-PC2 to setup a Linux Mint 13 MATE installation as a tiny media player on a fit-PC2i with the IDT audio hardware revision. 8-)

The system seems to run smooth so far, but at the moment I struggle getting the S/PDIF audio output to work. Analog output works as expected selecting the analog audio card output. Switching to the digital card does not seem to enable any digital output :(

Do you have any hints how to enable the S/PDIF output on Linux MATE?

Thanks for your feedback,
-Florian

S/PDIF digital output on 3.5'' jack transferred on different signal then analog audio, thus should be connected to S/PDIF supported HW (amplifier, speakers, ...), otherwise won't work.
And of course should be selected in OS as the desired output.

I've connected the S/PDIF digital output to the COAX S/PDIF in port of my Logitech surround speaker system and changed the output adapter of the Mint 13 configuration to the Digital Adapter - but the Logitech Z-5500 surround system does not receive any digital S/PDIF data to process. :x

Could you confirm that the S/PDIF output does run on your Linux Mint 13 MATE system on a fit-PC2 rev. 1.1 which uses the IDT 92HD83 audio chipset instead of the newer Realtek ALC662?
