Battery powered Fit?

Any plans for a UMPC or Netbook configuration for the Fit?

My current Fit PC-slim runs just fine on a batterypack I made.

It's just simply 10 (10 * 1.2v = 12v) rechargeable AAA batteries hooked up to a smart charger.
Works pretty well, but only lasts about 45 minutes on a charge.

Edit: I put AA instead of AAA. While AA will also work, AAA batteries are smaller. Using AA batteries should last ~3h (I haven't tried).

I am running an industrial battery pack with the Fit PC Slim. I get about 8 hours battery life. Wondering if anyone has solved the power indicator issue? I 'm not sure on how to go about getting the OS to see it is running on battery power vs. standard A/C power (US)? I just ordered 2 fit PC2's and I am planning on running those on the same battery pack.

Anybody have any ideas/suggestions?

These guys have a lot of nice battery options:

If you aren't up to programing a micro controller to monitor battery voltage, you can easily set up a Phidgets USB board to do it. It is not a particularly cheap solution (~$100) but Phidgets are very easy to program in almost any language there is.
Sensor Board: http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?product_id=1018
Voltage Sensor: http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?ca ... ct_id=1123
Current Sensor: http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?ca ... ct_id=1122

Anyone know a cheaper/easier solution?
