Post Supported Linux variants?
Hi,

Might be nice to have a thread listing people's experience with various linux flavors (and the patches required).

Personally, Im looking at a fitpc3 for a home server, but a friend mention that it might need a custom kernel. (Im looking to run opensuse on the cute little thing).

Reading the docs, i see that there are instructions for a standard ubuntu install with later change of kernel (for full hw support i assume).

Are there any issues other than the need for video/kernel drivers (or is it only video drivers?).

Cheers,
cam

Linux Mint is a good choice for a Linux Home Server. Which role do you want your server to perform?

I have opensuse on everything else, so i figured it'd be nice to use that.

I took the plunge, so we'll see how it goes once it arrives.

Hi cameron,

did you finally succeed in using openSUSE with fit-pc3?
Can you please post your experience with it?

I just bought a fitpc3 pro a week ago. I installed fedora 17 on it. No problems at all.
I also have virtual box loaded with windows7. No problems at all.

Pretty good for what i use it for which is mainly web surfing, youtubing and playing videos
and music.
