fitpc3 - realtek wlan strangeness

I have a home wireless network using a Speedtouch 780 DSL modem/wireless router. The network runs with WPA2-PSK and I have multiple devices using it without difficulty (asys laptop, macbook, dell laptop, fitpc2

The Speedtouch allows locking wireless access to 'registered' wireless MACs. Normally, I have it set to disallow access to unregistered devices. When I have a new device to use oon my network, I can ask the Speedtouch to scan for unregistered devices and to accept them (the scan runs for a minute or so). I can then selectively delete any devices found to which I don't want to grant access.

I just started up my new Fitpc3 and saw these problems -

1) the router did not register the fitpc3, even during the registration mode.

2) Changing the Sitecom from disallowing unregistered devices access to allow all devices, the speed touch did associate with the Speedtouch and I had a working link. The speedtouch knows the MAC address of the fitpc3 and has been told to grant it access. However, going back to disallowing unregistered devices causes the fitpc3 to immediately lose its connection to the wireless router

I am unsure which driver is being loaded - the Linux open-source one of the Realtek distributed driver, so I don't know if one or the other addresses this issue

Hi,
We use open-source wi-fi drivers, I advice you to ask the community people in the IRC chat.
