Wine with silverlight on Slackware 14

Post by vtailor »

I am typing this from Slackware 14 with the latest Microsoft Silverlight Driver installed. When I got to Microsoft, the web site verifies the Silverlight number as being "installed" on my version of "Windows". Amm, it works as a firefox.exe plugin, but, so far, the compholo version of wine is not displaying. Nice try, though, and sure beats moonlight.

Ah wait, here is the screen capture of the momentous event.

Hey there. The trick seems to be that the compholio wine only runs silverlight 4, not silverlight 5. And, it is basically a netflix subscription thing sitting on top of wine running firefox18.exe. So, with some extra skills gleaned from the bad old days and a tutorial on the internet, here is firefox18.exe running silverlight 4 in small-screen so you can see the desktop, but capable of doing full screen.

Notice that I erased Slackware 14 and put Linux Mint Maya in place of it.
