Post New Fit-PC3, WiFi not working on Win7
Hi!

I bought a barebone Fit PC3, inserted a 500GB SATA, and installed Win7 Enterprise from a USB stick. Installed LAN, Video and other Drivers successfully. All Windows updated have run through now.

Only WiFi seems not to be working yet. I used the Driver at http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/fit-PC3/Win7/drivers/.

Screenshot of the Device Manager is attached. It Shows under "Other devices" an unkown "Network controller".

Right clicking and letting it search for an updated driver in the directory where the WiFi driver has been unzipped does not help. Running Setup.exe in both directories in the driver package does not help.

What should I do?

Thanks in advance!

Pepper

1. Control Panel\Device Manager\Unknown Device
2. Mouse right click - Properties
3. Pick the details tab and Hardware Ids from the dropbox

Thanks - here they are:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8723&SUBSYS_872310EC&REV_00

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8723&CC_028000

and two lines with shorter versions of the above.

Your help is appreciated.

Please use the QCOM driver from here http://www.fit-pc2.com/download/fit-PC3/Win7/drivers/fit-PC3_Win7_WiFi_2012.12.04.zip

Hi!

I had used that one before, and installed both the Azurewave and the QCOM Setup.exe, each several times.

Upon your post I made a clean Win7 install from scratch, downloaded from your link again, and just used the QCOM\Setup.exe - no Change. When I use "update Driver" and select the QCM folder to look for a driver, it does not find any compatible driver.

Any further idea, or are we looking at hardware failure here?

Many thanks

Pepper

Hi there,

any new ideas?

Another thought: Can I buy the WiFi module for Fit PC3 separately? Which one should I buy? (I am considering getting a barebone without WiFi module and adding the WiFi manually).

Thanks

Pepper

That is very strange. We are unable to reproduce your problem with this card. What windows version do you use (x86, x64 , localized etc)?

Sure. You should look for a full or half size mini PCIe WiFi network adapter
