WiFi Adapter Disappearing

I have a FitPC3 Pro 4GB. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium - Service Pack 1 (32bit) installed on a 120GB Mushkin SSD.

Previously, my FitPC3 has operated flawlessly. However, within the last week, my wireless adapter has suddenly ceased to work on 2 occasions. Normally, the wireless adapter is listed in Device Manager under Network Adapters as:

Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n COMBO PCI-E NIC

However, when the WLAN adapter stops working, it disappears from Device Manger.

In order to restore operation of the WLAN adapter I must restart or enter and then exit hibernate mode.

I am using the following Compulab recommended driver obtained from the wiki:

Provider: Realtek Semiconductor Corp
Date: 10/6/2011
Version: 1005.28.1006.2011

Does Compulab have any suggestions ?

It seems like a wifi adapter failure. Please consider to RMA it.

After re-installing Win7 32bit and installing the latest wifi driver from the wiki, I have had no further dropouts.

Selecting the proper wifi driver (Azurewave or Qcom) was a bit of a trick since their was no clear indication of which brand card is installed in my unit. I finally removed the drive bay door and closely inspected the wifi PCIe card with a magnifying glass. It turns out I have the Azurewave AW-NB057H. Once I knew that, I installed the Azurewave driver and everything worked fine.

You can always identify your hardware by looking for it's VEN ID and DEV ID from your favorite OS.
