I have an asus hdmi monitor that has a peculiarity which causes the screen to blank, not the fault of the fit-pc3. This blanking happens in both Windows 8 and several Slackware 32-bit and 64-bit installations. Basically, you need some kind of background image or solid color (not black) on the desktop window, or the screen blanks. Right-clicking the mouse may unblank it temporarily. It's the fault of the monitor, not the pc. Oh yes. It also causes text-based Linux logins to disappear, which can be fixed by doing a graphics-only login.
