Intense Pc : cannot boot HDD or SSD

I just got an Intense PC but unfortunately there is some issue with the BIOS, as I cannot get it to boot of the internal hdd. Installer boots fine on usb and installs linux distro on the hdd, but the IPC won't boot from it. That drive is able to boot if taken to another similar hw platform.
We use grub.

Update: I installed Ubuntu 13 and I am able to boot, but still not with other distros.

Also, I find it strange that the BIOS on the Intense PC says it is an evaluation version and not for distribution... ordered last week.

I have reset the bios and tried several configurations but no success so far. The IPC just goes to the boot menu showing the sata drive model in the 1st option and that's it. Not even grub is being loaded.

Is this a known issue? How to fix it?

There are no issues booting from HDD/SSD device.

Few questions:
1. One Intense PC can boot from the exact disk, while the other cannot?
2. Ubuntu 13 can boot while other OS disto cannot?

I would suspect the problem is in BIOS settings or OS, so I would recommend
configure the BIOS exactly as on the working system.
The 2nd option is to make a clear installation of the OS.

Thanks for the feedback.
In the meantime we identified the problem.

The exact HDD/SDD and OS install is able to boot from other x86 boards, but not on the IPC.

The problem was related with a missing bootable flag on the partition table / MBR. It turns out that while the OS distro installation is able to boot, without problems, from other boards with standard BIOS, it will fail with the Phoenix UEFI firmware in legacy BIOS mode if a bootable flag is not present.
