IPC USB ports died

Post by biterror »

A few days ago, I plugged a Canon scanner to one of the IPC FACE USB ports (the second one from the left). This killed the two FACE USB ports on the left. I tried to reboot and disconnected power for a while, but the ports are still dead (nothing shows in dmesg when I plug in a keyboard or a FLASH disk. The other two FACE ports are still working.

Actually there is no problem with FM USB ports and all of them should operate properly. Please try to reset the BIOS:

and try to connect there a simple device - keyboard or mouse to test it again.

If won't help, please consider RMA:

Hi,

I tried to reset BIOS, but the two USB ports are still dead. Even a wireless keyboard receiver does not work, neither does a USB FLASH stick. :-(

The first option is to override the BIOS. It may help.
