No analog audio output

Post by Clayt »

Purchased Intense PC July 2014, running Mint 17, Cinnamon 64-bit. No sound. Connected 3.55mm stereo line-out plug to stereo receiver. Nothing. In addition, under sound settings, no analog output option is shown (though analog input is!?), only Digital Output (SPDIF).

Would also like to be sure I am using the correct jack on the back panel. Line out is the one directly under the on/off switch? Correct? Someone wrote somewhere that the manual had the line in and line out reversed.

Great little computer, but must have sound!!

Have you looked at this thread yet?

Several other people have had issues with analog audio output with the MintBox on Linux. The solution is to change the output from Digital Audio to Analog Audio. This can be done through the "pavucontrol" program.

Thanks. That did it. Sorry that I missed the appropriate thread. And yes, apparently the Owner's Manual reverses the location of the line-in and line-out!

Is the issue resolved?
