GPIO Timing accuracy

Post by Dinosaur »

Hi All

If I go through all the trouble of using GPIO and interfacing it to a Solid State Relay,
what would be the output pin timing accuracy.

For example, I need to drive a pneumatic solenoid that has to be ON for 300 mSec.(operator adjustable)
Using usb I am getting 3 or 4 mSec variation, with an occasional 11 mSec variation.

The 11 mSec variation is the problem.

Using fitlet GPIO cable you interface the GPIO HW directly with very simple and not memory-consuming drivers, what keeps the time delays to really minimum values, and the operation is real time.

Hi All

Thank you for the reply mbirger, one final point:
Where do I find what the maximum load in milliamps is for those outputs ?

This may answer your question - it is a bit "buried" in the wiki.
