BIOS update procedure

The following procedure true under Windows 7 and Linux in non-UEFI mode operating systems:

  1. Connect at least one display via HDMI port
  2. Prepare FAT formatted USB Disk-on-key
  3. Download the latest IPC2 BIOS ROM files
  4. Unzip and copy 3 files to the root directory:
    • IPC2.cap
    • startup.nsh
    • ShellFlash64.efi
  5. Insert the USB flash drive and ensure no other boot-able USB devices connected
  6. Power on IPC2, enter BIOS by pressing F2. Go to "Boot Features" and set "Legacy Boot" to "Disable"
  7. Check on the "Boot" tab that inserted USB listed as first boot device, otherwise change the boot order accordingly
  8. Go to "Exit" and press "Exit Saving Changes"
  9. IPC2 will restart and BIOS update will take place
  10. Wait for "BIOS is updated successfully. Press any key to continue ..." message
  11. Remove USB disk and press ENTER
  12. System may do several power cycles and then boot normally
  13. Configure the settings of the new BIOS according to your needs

Important notes:

  • In case of errors, it may be needed to remove all storage devices and perform the programming process with USB flash drive only.
  • Under Windows 8 and Linux in UEFI mode operating systems other procedure should be followed.
  • BIOS update resets any previous display configurations, setting HDMI ports as default outputs. If a display connected via DisplayPort interface, it resets and screen will go black.
