Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS setup utility.
Set 1st boot priority to USB HDD and save & exit.
The fit-PC4 will boot to DOS from the USB device.
Type flash.bat
Wait until a "BIOS is updated successfully" message appears.
Disconnect the USB device and reboot.
You can also install Linux.
Enjoy

I've read that page and unless I'm missing something, windows is required in order to prepare the bootable USB flash device.

You can prepare it on any other computer.

Thanks, you mean any other computer that's running Windows... I was looking for a way to update the BIOS without borrowing or buying Windows.
Surely someone at CompuLab has an easy solution for that?

It is probably a bit late in the day but I used an XP version of windows in VirtualBox.
You may be able to use PlayonLinux but I have not tried that.
My bios seems to be 'bug'gered so I may be trying it soon!
